"Artistically talented Hollis Woods, age 12, has made a habit of running away from foster homes, but she's found a place where she wants to stay. Unfortunately, her new foster parent is growing more forgetful every day, and Hollis' place with her is threatened. How she saves Josie and herself is the kernel of this moving story about families, longing, and belonging. Strong characterization and a solid sense of place are the strengths of this heartfelt story." -Scholastic.com

ReplyDeleteOne of the people in Pictures Of Hollis Woods is of course, Hollis. She is very creative and very curious most of the time. I got my answer on page 8. The book says,"I couldn`t take my eyes off her. I could feel a pencil in my hand, moving across the paper, drawing her face, her eyes, the knife." That proves that she can be very creative at times. Another person in the story is Henry. Henry is Hollis's foster parent's cat. He can be a little aggressive at times to new people that come in his house like Hollis. I know this because it says on page 9, that Henry came to the house with Hollis. It also says that Henry came with Hollis just to stab her in the leg with his claw.

ReplyDeleteOne of the people in pictures of Hollis Woods is Hollis I think that she is a creative and artiistic 12 year old girl. I saw this on pg.3 were she said "That foolish woman forgot that as long as I had a pencil and paper Id get along." This kind of shows what I was talking about it shows that she is creative and artistic person. One other charctor was , Josie she was the new person that Hollis was put with after she ran away from the Regan family. So far Josie seams to be a caring woman towrds Hollis because Hollis said on pg.11 "I might just stay. So she must have showed a caring heart to her.

ReplyDeleteOne of the people in pictures of Hollis Woods is Mrs.Evans. I think she is cool because how she talks is like this, "My M is at W." M is for Mother and the W is for work, that how she cool to me.

ReplyDeleteI don't think that they did a very good job of planning because they kind of just grabbed all of theis rtuff and left for the old man cabin. And it never really said that they even planned in the book it just said that they packet ll of the things that they needeed and left with Jossie,Hollis, and their cat Henery.
