When people speak off papper it means you put so much detail in your drawing people see the story your telling threw the drawings. Like in third picture it told a story that she fell trying to get the fish because it was so large. Or in the first picture where she discribed all the other foster homes she's been in. You can't forget the second picture. It talked about Seven and told a story threw the picture by saying things that discribed that day in a picture.

I think that what it means by Hollis's drawings as a language is her drawing expresses more than just a drawing to the other character. Maybe the other character can relate or compare to her drawings.

What it means is that the Old Manis saying is "That Hollis can descibes stories out of her drawings." It's like a picture book with no words.

I think that they ment that Hollis is such a good artist that it became a language that she speeks on paper. An illistrator tries to tell a story through their art, and Hollis tells really great stories, feelings, and emotions.

  5. I think that what it means when Hollis draws her pictures, is that it tells a story about her life. When people see her pictures they will understand the story Hollis is trying to tell people in her drawings. They even might get a feeling about her drawings when look at them. Hollis even gets feelings and memories about her own drawings. (Page 29)

Well, I think that her way of her telling a story is by her drawings . Hollis likes to draw people to go along with the story to make them more interesting. Drawings make stories better.
