I think that the overall message from this book is that do not be afraid to take an adventure when possible. Life is just like a rollercoster. You have your ups and you have your downs, like in the book. Josie and hollis both have their diffrent emotions. You just have to live through those hard times and think positive. Hollis had to think good thoughts during her hard times.Like when Beitrice left for the mountans and did not come back for a long time. That was hard for Hollis. She had to think positive and think about other things.

I think that the overall message of the book was that you dont always have to hide from the fun, you can go out and take a joyride every once in a while and not be afraid and have lots of fun.
I also think that another overall message of he book was that Hollis was thinking about which family she most belonged in. She picked the Regans because that is who she ended up being with at the end of the story. But I think that she still misses Josie.

The overall message to me is that it’s hard to be an orphan but you can have normal life. People can’t always be perfect; they make mistakes and learn from their mistakes.
One example was when Steven and Hollis went up the mountain got in to car accident. They learned from the big mistake; don’t drive without adults’ permission.
Another example was when Hollis runs away after the car accident and it caused the old man to go look for her in Long Island. She learns from her mistake, and doesn’t run away from friends or family, because Hollis might cause someone to get lost.

  4. I think that the overall message of the story was that even though your life can seam bad at times you can always make it better.
Hollis was an orphan and that didn't stop her from having the adventure of her life. When she found out the news that she had to leave Josie, she thought that she couldn't do anything about it and her life was over. Then she took a chance, got out there and did something that changed her life forever.

The theme of the book "Pictures of Hollis Woods" is Hollis is trying to find her rightful place where she belongs. To find a family that loves her and that she loves back. Hollis never gives up on her dream to find the perfect family. Sometimes you have to be tough to get through the hard times in life. Once, when Hollis was in the conference room and the old man was trying to convince her to come home with them - she wouldn't look up at him. Another example is when Hollis and Steven where driving in the car and Steven crashed. Hollis saw that he wasn't moving and became very scared. Hollis was then afraid that when she came back to the Regan's house, the old man was going to be mad at Steven for crashing the car.

I think that this book is talk about that when it is all about Hollis running away from every foster home. so every time there is foster she always run away. But when she ran this time, she went to this an old lady name Josie. Josie was the one that took care of her. Hollis wanted to run away from her but she didn't, Hollis stayed with her.

I think the overall story , is about Hollis Wood is trying to find the right home for her live in. Also to find some one to who will be her friend and take care of her, like Josie. Also to find people who will care for her , the old man who was nice. Also people who are giving to others that will be nice and care for others.
