The person I picked to write about is Josie. On page 7 Hollis tells us that Josie has crisscross lines on her forehead and cheeks. It also says that she had an old movie star face. You can tell that Josie is older. On most of the pages it talks about Josie’s art so you can tell she’s an artist. Also on page 9, Hollis tries to test her by asking who invented the spoon. Josie made a joke out of it. You can tell she’s very funny. On pages 22, 23 and 24 Josie takes Hollis to “her ocean”. I think she took her there to talk to her in a way that Hollis could be happy about and want to draw. You can tell that she’s very friendly and creative to think of taking her to “her ocean”.

One character from my book is Hollis. Hollis is the main character. She is an orphan. She is a 12 year old girl. She has come to a person named Ms. Josie. She seemed really nice at first but Hollis overheard Ms. Josie talking on the phone. Ms. Josie was not talking very nice about Hollis. She was saying that Hollis was a big mountain of trouble. Hollis got mad and stomped up stairs. Those are some facts about Hollis Woods, from the book Pictures of Hollis Woods.

The Character I picked was Josie. In the book, Hollis describes Josie by saying she looks like a movie star. She had rings on eight fingers and she had a blue dress with filmy stuff that floated around her. Hollis can't take her eyes off of her (Page 7-8). She has beautiful hands that were long and thin with nails painted fire-engine red (page 22). Josie was an art teacher (page 6) and an artist. Josie likes to carve tree branches into little figures.

The main character I am choosing is Hollis Woods, who is an orphan and is 12 years of old. She is still waiting to be adopted. The last family she lived with were called the Regans, whom she was fond of. She is now being placed with a lady by the name of Josie Cahill (chpter 2, pg. 18). Josie is an older lady.

  6. The character Im choosing is hollis woods it describes in the book that she is an orphan who was abandoned in a placed called hollis woods that where she got her name from. She is a 12 year old orphan who is sent to so many different foster homes she can hardly remember them all . She is placed with a new guardian is Josie Cahills. After staying with Josie for a while hollis overheard her on the phone quoting that "Hollis is a big mountain of trouble." So we can probably tell that she has a bit of an attitude when it comes to certain things. Hollis woods just wants a family that loves her and except her for who she is and she'll keep running away from all the homes she gets placed in to find it until the end of story she might read the book Pictures Of Hollis Woods by patricia reilly giff you find it really interesting!!!
